Labor Day Goodbye Summer Scholastic

This year's Labor Day Goodbye Summer Scholastic tournament hosted 31 players. As is customary to this unique event, the players were treated to a pizza lunch and a visit by the ice cream truck at the end of the day. Despite the festive day, the players played their games with the utmost intensity. There were many long and complex battles over the chess boards.

In the K-2 section Christopher Middleton, playing in his first rated tournament ever, claimed first place with a perfect score of 4 points! Jason He and Jonathan Piza tied for second place, each with a total score of 3 points. Colin Tetlock, Grace Gong, Ethan Friedman, and Alex Jiang tied for third place, each with a total score of 2 points.

In the K-5 section Natalia Levicky placed first with a total score of 3.5 points. Benjamin Hong, Zihou Dai, and Arjun Leih tied for second place, each with a total score of 3 points. Satya Daftuar and Isaac Lantsman tied for third place, each with a total score of 2.5 points.

In the K-12 section Brent McCreesh placed clear first with a total score of 3.5 points. Max Ingargiola and Henry Buczkiewicz tied for second place, each with a total score of 3 points. Rohan Awasthi came in third place with a total score of 2.5 points.

All of today's participants are to be commended for their sportsmanship and camaraderie displayed throughout the event. We look forward to next year's Goodbye Summer tournamen!
