K-5 Scholastic Championships

August 19th

With the last days of summer winding down, undoubtedly with many trying to squeeze in one last vacation before school, ten players came out to compete in our August scholastic championship.  Despite the smaller than usual turnout, the field was fiercely competitive.  Top seeded Dylan Young won his first two games seemingly with ease, but was stopped in the third round by Nick Boer.  Boer went on to draw his final round game to win clear first in grades 3 – 5.  The top scoring player in grades K-2 was Payton Shen.  Congratulations to the winners and thank you to everyone that came out for a great tournament!  Our next scholastic tournament is our Goodbye Summer tournament which is open to grades K-8 and will take place on September 3rd.  We hope to see you then!
