Saturday G/45 Quads

As usual this weekend we hosted many exciting and competitive quads.  After just two rounds, National Master Oliver Chernin had won both of his games and was guaranteed at least a tie for first place.  His score held up to take clear first by the narrowest of margins, with two players just behind with 1.5 points each.  Andrew Colwell was the only player to go undefeated in quad two and won a well deserved first place with 2.5/3.

Likewise, CCFC’s Evan Helman showed his class, winning quad three in solid fashion. Laurent LaFosse was the deserving winner in quad four.  After winning his first two games, he drew with the talented Sophie Zhu in the last round to secure victory by a full one point margin!  The first perfect score (despite all of the players being rated within less than 100 points of each other) of the day was accomplished by Zachary Thayer in quad five.  Finally, the sixth section also saw a perfect score, this time it was Max McAuley who won all of his games, sending his rating zooming back over 1000.

Congratulations to all of our winners and thank you to everyone that participated today!
