Join our coaches and fellow students as we prepare together as a group for one of the biggest chess events of the year!  As a young player, preparing with a group to compete at such an event is an extremely rewarding experience.  Our coaches will guide you through the process and help with individual preparations.  Players of all levels can participate at the nationals, however, we recommend speaking with one of our instructors prior to registering to confirm that this experience is right for you.  

Options Include:

  • Three 2 hour group training sessions prior to the tournament. 
    Dates/Times: 10:00am - 12:00pm Sundays, November 19th, 26th, December 3rd
  • Personalized coaching and game review before and after each round (Friday – Sunday). 
  • Private team room near the tournament playing hall, available only to the players and families traveling with CCFC. 
  • 10:1 Maximum Student:Teacher ratio. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Option I

Participation in three two hour training sessions prior to the tournament ONLY.  A total of six hours of instruction and tournament preparation.

3 classes $150 or $55 per individual class.

3 classes $120 or $45 per individual class

Option II

On-site coaching and use of team room ONLY.  No pre-tournament training sessions. 


Option III

Tournament preparation sessions and on-site coaching with team room. 


About the instructor:
The instructor for our nationals trip will be National Master Ian Harris. NM Harris is the current and three time Connecticut State Champion with a peak rating of 2364. He has extensive experience as a chess coach, including five previous trips to coach at the nationals.

*Students may still represent their school teams, while also participating as part of our group. Open to K-12
*Additional siblings: 20% discounted
*Varsity Dream Teamers: 20% discounted
*Minimum of six full paying participants required. 
*A parent/guardian must be present at all times during the tournament.
*Note: You are responsible for your own airfare, hotel, meals, and tournament registration.
